Norwood: 24-Year-Old Man Shot in the Back, Dies, Arrests Made

On Monday, July 20, 2020 at approximately 11:44 p.m., police responded to a 911 call of a man shot in front of 3340 Decatur Avenue, within the confines of the 52nd precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 24-year-old man, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the back. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to Montefiore Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. Six Bronx Catholic Schools Abruptly Close  

On Thursday, July 9, the Archdiocese of New York announced that 20 Catholic schools, including six in the Bronx, would be unable to reopen in September due to lack of finances in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic.   The affected Bronx schools are St. John’s School in Kingsbridge, St. Luke’s School in Motthaven, St. Thomas Aquinas School in West Farms, the Nativity of Our Blessed Lady School in Eastchester, Our Lady of the Assumption School in Pelham Bay, and Sts. Morrisania: 40-Year-Old Man Stabbed Dies

On Thursday, Jun. 11, 2020 at approximately 2:58 a.m., police responded to a 911 wellness check call at 379 East 169th Street within the confines of the 44th precinct. Upon arrival, officers observed a 40-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with multiple stab wounds throughout the body.   EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing. Parkchester: 29-Year-Old Male Stabbed

  The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual wanted for questioning in connection with an assault within the confines of the 43rd Precinct in Parkchester.   On Saturday, Jun. 6, 2020 at approximately 11:55 a.m., a 29-year old male victim got into a verbal dispute with an unknown male individual in front of 1840 East Tremont Avenue, and the situation escalated into a physical confrontation.   The male individual then brandished a knife and stabbed the victim several times about the torso, arms and legs, causing lacerations. Norwood: 26-Year-Old Male Stabbed

Police have reported that on Jun. 9, 2020 at approximately 00:10 a.m., officers responded to a call about a 26-year-old male who was stabbed in the chest and left leg outside 344 East 209th Street within the confines of the 52nd precinct.   The victim was brought to Jacobi Medical Center. New Bill to Protect Contact Tracing Data from Law Enforcement

New Important legislation has been introduced to ensure that contact tracing in relation to COVID-19 achieves its public health goals and is not weaponized against communities of color. De Blasio Announces New Policing Reforms, Ends Curfew
