NYPD Release Bodycam Video of Police-Involved Shooting in 40th Precinct

  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=63el94zlNiU   On Tuesday, March 30, the NYPD released the body-worn camera footage from an officer-involved shooting that occurred on February 21,  2021 in the 40th precinct, the southernmost precinct in the borough of the Bronx, which serves Port Morris, Mott Haven, and Melrose.   Agency officials said the video includes available evidence leading up to the incident as well as during the incident, and the department is releasing the video for clear viewing of the totality of the incident.   All NYPD patrol officers are equipped with body-worn cameras. Mott Haven: 37-Year-Old Woman Dies in Residential Building, Investigation Ongoing

  On Monday, Jan. 25, 2021 at around 5 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an aided person on East 137th Street (Mitchel Houses) in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, in the 40th precinct (PSA#7). Upon arrival, officers observed a 37-year-old woman, unconscious and unresponsive, laying in the bathroom of an apartment at the location.   EMS responded and pronounced the woman deceased at the scene. The Medical Examiner will determine the cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.   The identity of the deceased is pending proper family notification.    

Update: Missing 15-Year-Old Girl in Mott Haven Found Safe

The New York City Police Department had been seeking the public’s assistance in locating Myasia Gibbs, 15, who lives at 575 East 140th Street, Apt. 2Y in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, and who had been reported missing in the 40th precinct.   Myasia had last been seen Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2020 at 4.30 p.m. inside her home. She was described as being approximately 5 feet, 5 inches tall, has a  medium complexion and a medium build, weighs 158 pounds, and has brown eyes and black hair. The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance in locating Nevaeh Reid, 14, who was reported missing in the 40th precinct which covers Port Morris, Mott Haven, and Melrose.   Navaeh was last seen at her home at 530 Exterior Street Apt 5H in the South Bronx on Friday, Nov. 20, 2020 at 5 p.m. She is described as female, Black, 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighs 140 pounds, has brown eyes and black hair.
