Pelham Parkway: 23-Year-Old Man Fatally Shot

Police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at 2143 Cruger Avenue in the Pelham Parkway section of the Bronx in the 49th precinct, on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at approximately 3.07 p.m.   Upon arrival, police observed a 23-year-old man with gunshot wounds to his chest, unconscious and unresponsive. EMS also responded and transported the man to NYC Health + Hospitals / Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests at this time. The investigation is ongoing. The deceased is identified as Abdessamad Essafoui of Kingsland Avenue in the Pelham Gardens section

  An unidentified, 19-year-old man is recovering after he was allegedly run over during a chain reaction vehicle crash which occurred near a ‘pop-up’ car wash in Williamsbridge.   Police and fire department rescue crews raced to 1320 East 222nd Street and Wickham Avenue, following initial radio reports that indicated a man was pinned under a vehicle, a claim which could not be corroborated later by officials, when questioned by Norwood News.   The FDNY reported that the crash occurred at 7:21 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, along the busy thoroughfare of East 222nd Street. Bronx Man Charged with 2012 Olinville Murder of Michael Perez

  A Bronx man has been charged in connection with the 2012 murder of Michael Perez. Audrey Strauss, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York, and Dermot Shea, NYPD commissioner, announced on Wednesday, May 5, that Shareef Landsmark, a/k/a “Reef, a/k/a “Wreef,” was charged with the murder, which took place in the Olinville section of the Bronx on September 17, 2012.   Landsmark was arrested on May 4 and was presented before U.S. Magistrate judge, Katharine H.
