A Pelham Garden neighbor of 91-year-old, Nicholas Rappa, has reacted to the eventual arrest, on Monday, of 32-year-old Luis Bonilla for Rappa’s murder. The arrest follows a police investigation and announcement last week of a reward of $10,000 for anyone who had any information regarding the fatal incident which occurred at the senior’s home. As reported, police arrested Bonilla, 32, of East 197th Street in Bedford Park, on Monday, Aug. 9, for the murder of the 91-year-old senior, who had been discovered by his neighbors inside the garage of his Pelham Gardens home at 2400 Wickham Avenue on Tuesday,

The CUNY Mexican Studies Institute (MSI), housed at Lehman College, is celebrating its 10th year with a significant new investment from local lawmakers. In July, the institute received a funding allocation of $1 million from New York City Council to support its work. Police are seeking the public’s assistance in locating a woman who is wanted for questioning in connection to the stabbing of a 43-year-old man outside a bodega on University Avenue in Fordham Manor. The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two individuals seen in the attached video who are wanted in connection to an assault that occurred in Jerome Park. It was reported to police that on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at around 5 p.m., in front of 3051 Valentine Avenue, located in the 52nd precinct, the two individuals assaulted a 35-year-old man, following a dispute. During the altercation, one of the men stabbed the victim in the back twice with an unknown sharp object. Both suspects fled the scene southbound on Valentine Avenue.
