After 16 months of postponement due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Preston High School, an all girls school located in the Throgs Neck section of the Bronx, finally got to host an alumnae reunion for the class years ending in zeros, fives, ones, and sixes on Saturday, Sept. 18. Friends of Devoe Park (FODP) hosted a “Dancing in Unity Fair,” on Saturday, Sept. 18, in Devoe Park, located in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx. The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in obtaining further information on an individual who was arrested for various, alleged sex-related crimes committed against a child. It was reported to police that sometime between October 2020 and November 2020, inside 2246 Webster Avenue in Belmont, the individual allegedly sexually assaulted a 4-year-old boy. Eric L. Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Friday, Oct. 8, that Jordan Burnette was indicted on multiple charges, including criminal trespass as a hate crime, for defacing multiple synagogues in the Northwest Bronx earlier this year, as reported at the time by Norwood News. Clark said the defendant, Burnette, 30, of Riverdale, was arraigned on a 76-count indictment before Bronx Supreme Court justice, Lester Adler on Friday. Having been closed for more than a year, due to the citywide shutdown brought on by the coronavirus pandemic, the Mosholu branch of New York Public Library (NYPL), like many others, reopened to the public in July, as reported.
