Norwood Community Shows Appreciation at Block Party

  The inaugural Norwood Community Appreciation Block Party was held on Oct. 17 on Tryon Avenue in the Norwood section of the Bronx. Alina K. Dowe and Sedella M. Mt Hope: Search for Missing 72-Year-Old Woman

The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating a woman who was reported missing in Mt Hope, located in the 46th precinct. It was reported to the police that Cecil Francis, 72, of 171 Echo Place in the Mt Hope section of the Bronx was last seen on Thursday, Nov. 18, at approximately 7 a.m., inside her home.   She is described as being approximately 5 feet, 3 inches tall, weighs 130 pounds, is Black, has a thin build, a dark complexion, brown eyes and brown hair. Allerton: 45-Year-Old Man Dies following Scooter Accident

Police confirm a 45-year-old man has died following a scooter accident in Allerton.   It was reported that on Oct. 27, at 8.21 p.m., the operator of a Cycleboard rover scooter was traveling southbound along Bronx Park East,  approaching Waring Avenue, in the Allerton section of the Bronx when he lost control of the scooter and struck his head on the ground.   The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased on Nov. 11. The victim has been identified as Marvin Campbell, 45, of Bussing Avenue in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.  

Fordham Manor: 80-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit & Run Incident

On Tuesday, Nov. 16, at approximately 6.07 a.m. police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle at 2625 Jerome Avenue.   Upon arrival, police observed an 80-year-old man lying on the roadway with trauma to his head and right leg. EMS also responded and transported the man to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that day.   A preliminary investigation determined that the man was struck by a blue Sport Utility Vehicle that had been traveling southbound on Jerome Avenue. School Safety Agent Arrested for Assault

Police confirm that an off-duty New York City employee was arrested and charged in the 45th precinct, which covers Co-op City and City Island.   On Thursday, Nov. 18, at 10.17 p.m., Kayla Cox, 38, an NYPD school safety agent, was charged with assault.   A person who is charged with a crime is innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.    

UPDATE: Veterans Day Recognized Across The Bronx

14-Year-Old Student Brought to Jacobi Hospital following Stabbing at Walton High School

  Police confirmed that a 14-year-old student was brought to Jacobi Medical Center, following a stabbing on Friday inside Walton High School in Kingsbridge Heights.   At 12.51 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 19, police responded to a call from the school. Upon arrival, officers were informed by school staff that two students had gotten into a physical altercation in a classroom. During the fight, a 15-year-old male student stabbed another 14-year-old male student in the chest with scissors.
