Join Friday Night Vibes for interactive hang out sessions with games, crafts and social activities at the Williamsbridge Oval Recreation Center, 3225 Reservoir Oval East in Norwood each Friday through Sept. 25, between 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. for youth ages 13 to 17. This event is free. All participants must bring a sturdy lock and secure personal belongings. A Splash from the Beach family event will also be held at the center on Thursday, Aug. 6, from 11.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. with family games, sports and more.

Nonprofit, KRCV, will be screening various Kids’ Movies on the following Saturdays, July 25 (Coco), and Aug. 1 (Lilo & Stitch), all from 1.30 p.m. to 4 p.m. at 505 West 236th Street in Riverdale. Snacks will also be provided, and all are welcome.
Kingsbridge Library, 291 West 231st Street, Bronx, will host Two-Player, Adult Board Games like Chess, Scrabble, Trouble, Connect 4, Uno, and Monopoly on Saturdays at 2 p.m. in the coming weeks. All are welcome.

The Bronx Summer Concert Series hosted by the Office of the Bronx Borough President will continue, as usual, every Sunday throughout July and August, as well as on the first Sunday of September, bringing “world-class performances” to the newly renovated Orchard Beach between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m.
Join Bronx Arts Ensemble (BAE) on Saturday, July 25, from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. with Odane Whilby’s band for BAE’s summer music series at the Van Cortlandt House Museum lawn, 6036 Broadway (at West 246th Street) inside Van Cortlandt Park, for a free 50s-80s Pop Hits event featuring hits by legendary artists such as Dion, The Temptations, Stevie Wonder, and Diana Ross.
Visit the Bronx Music Hall at 438 E 163rd Street, Bronx on Thursday, July 30, at 7 p.m. to commemorate the legacy of José “Chema” Soto, a beloved Bronx leader who founded the La Casita community garden. A historical panel discussion will celebrate 50 years of Rincón Criollo with never-before-seen photos by award-winning photographer Martha Cooper. Afterwards, Mildred Cruz and Sembrando Cultura are scheduled to perform.

As part of a citywide summer tour, The Public Theater will be performing THE WINTER’S TALE at Bronx Community College on Aug. 16. On the date of each public performance, a limited number of vouchers for that night’s performance will be distributed at a borough location beginning at noon. Bronx Film Week is back for its second year, running from August 13 to August 22. Kicking off with a community party on Aug. 13, at SoBro Garden from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., the event will feature filmmakers, Eif Rivera and Rashaad Ernesto Green. From there, it will expand across 14 venues throughout The Bronx, including Regal Concourse, the Bronx Museum, Pregones Theater, Andrew Freedman Home, and Lehman College. New York Botanical Garden (NYBG) welcomes residents to its Master Composter Program. Thanks to the support of the New York City Council, funding for community composting programs and the Master Composter Certificate Course has been extended through June 2027, officials said.
