There were no injuries reported after the FDNY was called to a residential multistory building in the Norwood section of The Bronx on Sunday evening, May 3.

Firefighters said they received a call at 6.18 p.m. for a report of smoke in the area of 2556 Rochambeau Avenue. They said one one engine and one ladder responded to the location and the incident was closed at 6.32 p.m. The building is located opposite a mosque and worshippers were seen standing outside taking in the scene as the fire units responded.
View a short video of the scene here. As reported, another fire broke out in a garbage truck also in the Norwood section of the borough on Monday morning, April 27.
Meanwhile, according to one resident of 3560 Olinville Avenue, there were no injuries reported following a separate mattress fire that broke out in a first-floor apartment in the residential building located in the Olinville section of The Bronx in the early hours of Thursday, April 30.

The resident said it was a small fire in the back of the building and the FDNY arrived and put it out. Asked if the fire alarm went off, he said it did. When contacted about the incident, the FDNY said the department received a call at 2.10 a.m. on April 30 for a report of a fire at 3560 Olinville Road between East Gun Hill Road and East 213th Street.
They said there was a mattress that was on fire in a hallway, there were no injuries and the fire marshal were notified, and the incident was closed at 3.15 a.m.
