Latest Updates on Vaccine Eligibility

Who is now eligible? The FDA has authorized emergency use of the Pfizer vaccine to everyone who is age 12 and older. This authorization is only for the Pfizer vaccine at this time. You must be 18 or older to receive the Johnson & Johnson and Moderna vaccine. People who live outside of the state but work or study in New York are also eligible to get vaccinated.

In order for an adolescent to receive the Pfizer vaccine, they must provide proof of age (such as a birth certificate, passport, or NYC ID). A parent or guardian can also sign an affidavit that the child is at least 12 years old. Proof of consent from a parent or guardian is also required for minors to get vaccinated. City-run vaccination sites (such as the one at Lehman College) will accept written consent, but other sites may require the parent or guardian to appear in person.
