The NYPD is asking for the public’s help locating the person seen in the attached photo, who they said is wanted in connection with the fatal shooting that took place in the Mt Hope section of The Bronx on New Year’s Day, Thursday, Jan. 1.
As reported, a 55-year-old man died following the shooting, police said. Norwood News has received as yet unconfirmed reports that the victim was a cab driver and was found deceased in a burning car.
Police said that at around 6.54 a.m. on Jan. 1, officers from the 46th Precinct responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at the location. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 55-year-old male with a gunshot wound to the head,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and pronounced the victim deceased on scene. There are no arrests, and the investigation remains ongoing.”

Police said the deceased was identified as Issa Mbolo-Isac from the Throggs Neck section of The Bronx.
The FDNY separately confirmed that the fire department responded to a 911 call for a report of a fire at 1752 Morris Avenue and that one patient was found deceased at the location. They said the cause of the fire is not yet known, the incident was closed at 7:30 a.m. and no further information was yet available. We asked if it was a car which was on fire at the location provided and await confirmation.
