The family of a South Carolina man is asking for the public’s help in locating Andrew Jerome Ashe, 27, who was last seen leaving a relative’s home on Walton Avenue in Fordham Heights.

According to the missing man’s aunt, Fordham Heights resident, Divene Gabriel, Ashe has been missing since the end of August 2021. The NYPD has told the family that Ashe’s bank card was last used in the area of Jerome Avenue and West 183rd Street and later near Central Park in Manhattan. Gabriel said that Ashe deals with schizophrenia, as well as diabetes.

Gabriel recalled, “He stayed a couple of days, and then he disappeared, so we haven’t seen or heard from him since then.” She added, “He’s still missing and he’s not in the right frame of mind, because we don’t know the last time he’s taken his medicine.”

Ashe is described as 5 feet, 6 inches in height, weighs 190 pounds and has brown hair and eyes. It is not known what he was wearing at the time of his disappearance, but he wears an earring in both ears and glasses.

Gabriel concluded, “This is taking a toll on the whole family. Every day we wait, the longer it is we don’t know what’s happening.”

Anyone with any information on Ashe’s whereabouts is urged to call the NYPD’s Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477) or for Spanish, 1-888-57-PISTA (74782). The public can also submit their tips by logging onto the CrimeStoppers website at https://crimestoppers.nypdonline.org/ or on Twitter @NYPDTips.

All calls are strictly confidential.
