A female MetroNorth passenger was transported to hospital after being hit by a Metro-North train at Fordham Road station on Friday, May 30, MTA PD officials said.

When we contacted the NYPD for information on the incident, we were referred to the MTA police who said that at around 9.26 a.m. at the Fordham Road Metro-North station, the Metro-North train number 1316 was arriving at the station “at a slow rate of speed.”

They said an investigation revealed that a 22-year-old woman was standing on the south end of the northbound platform and made contact with the train.

The MTA PD and FDNY responded, and the injured woman was transported conscious and alert to St. Barnabas Hospital. “No criminality is suspected,” they said.

They added that the Metro-North train number 1318 arrived at 9.55 a.m. to take waiting customers from the 1316 train  onward to Stamford.

Meanwhile, New York Gov. Kathy Hochul had been traveling to Yonkers on a MetroNorth train the same day. She tweeted at 10.51 a.m., “On my way to Yonkers to announce major investments in housing and infrastructure! Thanks to @MetroNorth for a smooth, easy ride!”
