For many years, the Norwood News has been far more than a local newspaper. It has been a trusted voice, a community record, and a reflection of the people, families, businesses, schools, and organizations that make The Bronx, particularly the neighborhoods within our district, so special.
Through its dedicated reporting, the Norwood News brought attention to the issues that mattered most to Bronx residents. It celebrated community achievements, highlighted local leaders, informed neighbors about important resources and events, and ensured that the concerns of everyday Bronxites were heard. At a time when many communities struggle to receive meaningful and consistent local news coverage, the Norwood News remained deeply connected to the people it served.

The paper helped strengthen the relationship between residents, community organizations, and their elected representatives by keeping the public informed about government programs, neighborhood developments, public meetings, and decisions affecting their daily lives. Its work encouraged civic participation and reminded residents throughout our district that their voices, experiences, and concerns mattered.
Our district has greatly appreciated the Norwood News’ longstanding commitment to honest, accessible, and community-centered journalism. Its reporters consistently showed up for The Bronx, documenting not only our challenges, but also the strength, resilience, culture, and achievements that define our borough. Through its coverage, the Norwood News helped ensure that the stories of our neighborhoods were preserved and shared with the dignity and attention they deserved.
