Union, MS 80 Parents Rally for Removal of Principal
This afternoon, about a dozen or so people rallied near the entrance to MS 80, the Mosholu Parkway School, holding union flags and signs. One of the participants, 11th District City Council candidate Cliff Stanton, held a sign that read “Respect MS 80 students.” Organizers said they plan to continue rallying there every Thursday at the same time until Principal Emmanuel Polanco is removed from his position.

Bronx parents, students, advocates and everyone in between will have an opportunity to speak with New York City Schools Chancellor Dennis Walcott who is scheduled to attend a town hall-style meeting at the Walton campus (2780 Reservoir Ave.) on Tuesday, March 19, from 6 to 7 p.m. Community Education Council District 10 is hosting the forum in Walton’s auditorium.

Blizzard Watch: School’s On, But After-School Programs and PSAL Games Cancelled
At least here in the northwest, it’s been snowing pretty steadily, but roads seem to be decent. School is still going on as scheduled, but the Department of Education is canceling after school programs and sports matches. They haven’t decided about scheduled Saturday activities, although the big “blizzard” is supposed to commence later tonight. Here’s the announcement from the DOE
