FDNY Releases Child’s Finger from Seat Belt

  Fire department officials were called when a 4-year-old child got their finger caught in a seatbelt. FDNY confirmed the unusual incident took place at West Kingsbridge Road and Davidson Avenue in Fordham Manor, at 8:40 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 24.   Without providing any additional details regarding the child’s gender or circumstances, one unnamed, fire official reported that the patient was treated at the scene and the child’s finger freed from the belt without suffering serious injury.    

UPDATE Norwood: Man Shot at on Knox Place

The NYPD is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a 14-year-old girl who has been reported missing and who lives in Melrose in the 44th precinct, Yanirzy Murillo, 14-year-old of 3125 Park Avenue, Apt#11B was last seen Friday, Oct. 1, at approximately 6 a.m., inside her home.   She is described as female, approximately 4 feet, 5 inches tall, Hispanic, weighs 100 pounds, has a thin build, a dark complexion, brown eyes with black braided hair. Lawsuit Gives Blind Individuals Access to NYS Emergency Mass Notification System

People who are blind and use screen readers will now have independent access to life-saving information offered by “NY-Alert,” New York State’s Mass Notification System.
