FDNY officials responded to reports of an elevator that was out of order at Fort Independence Houses, a residential housing complex located at 3340 Bailey Avenue in Van Cortlandt Village on Wednesday evening, Feb. 9. The NYPD has released a video following the fatal shooting of a man in the early hours of Monday morning in University Heights. On Monday, Feb. 7, at approximately 00.02 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at 2296 Andrews Avenue. A 50-year-old man has died following a car accident in the vicinity of Bronx Park. Police said on Sunday, Feb. 6, at approximately 5.13 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call regarding a vehicle collision on the southbound Bronx River Parkway at East Fordham Road. A new study co-authored by two pediatric gastroenterologists at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) has highlighted the danger of small, high-powered magnets commonly sold as “desk toys” for adults, and which are sometimes ingested by children.
