A 23-year-old man has been arrested on Monday after a 3-month-old baby girl was found dead in a wooded area of the Highbridge section of The Bronx on Sunday, police said. A 20-year-old woman was also arrested on Monday evening in connection with the incident, they said. A 2-alarm fire in the Bedford Park section of The Bronx on Thursday resulted in no injuries, FDNY officials said. The blaze broke out on the 1st floor of a residential building at 5 Minerva Place by Jerome Avenue and Creston Avenue, FDNY officials said, adding that they were alerted to the incident at 1.25 p.m. on Thursday, May 25. An FDNY spokesperson said 25 units, comprising 106 firefighters responded to the scene at the 6-story building and the blaze was placed under control at 2.54 p.m. The spokesperson added that the cause of the fire is under investigation.
