Clark announced on June 22 that four Rikers Island inmates have been charged with gang assault and related offenses for brutally beating a fellow inmate, leaving him hospitalized with serious injuries. Police have launched a murder investigation following the killing of a 62-year-old man in Fordham Heights in May. One 49-year-old man has been arrested on assault and other charges in connection with the incident.
