Petition Launched to Save St. Barnabas High School

A petition was launched in mid-July to save the private, Catholic high school for girls, St. Barnabas High School (SBHS), located at 25 E 240th Street in Woodlawn Heights, which the Board of Trustees announced on June 28 had closed with immediate effect due to declining enrollment, a decrease in donations, and rising costs.

“World Day Against Trafficking in Persons” is marked on July 30. According to the Mayor’s Office to End Domestic and Gender-Based Violence (MOEDGBV), human trafficking is the use of power and control to force, trick, or coerce someone into engaging in providing labor or services, which can include commercial sex.

BMCA Honors Norwood News Editor with Community Award
