The inaugural Norwood Community Appreciation Block Party was held on Oct. 17 on Tryon Avenue in the Norwood section of the Bronx. Alina K. Dowe and Sedella M. East 144th Street between Gerard Avenue and Exterior Street: This street will be closed from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. through Nov. 30 to facilitate crane operation. The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance locating a woman who was reported missing in Mt Hope, located in the 46th precinct. It was reported to the police that Cecil Francis, 72, of 171 Echo Place in the Mt Hope section of the Bronx was last seen on Thursday, Nov. 18, at approximately 7 a.m., inside her home. Police confirm a 45-year-old man has died following a scooter accident in Allerton. It was reported that on Oct. 27, at 8.21 p.m., the operator of a Cycleboard rover scooter was traveling southbound along Bronx Park East, approaching Waring Avenue, in the Allerton section of the Bronx when he lost control of the scooter and struck his head on the ground. The victim was transported to Jacobi Medical Center where he was pronounced deceased on Nov. 11. The victim has been identified as Marvin Campbell, 45, of Bussing Avenue in the Wakefield section of the Bronx.

Fordham Manor: 80-Year-Old Man Killed in Hit & Run Incident

On Tuesday, Nov. 16, at approximately 6.07 a.m. police responded to a 911 call regarding a pedestrian who had been struck by a vehicle at 2625 Jerome Avenue. Upon arrival, police observed an 80-year-old man lying on the roadway with trauma to his head and right leg. EMS also responded and transported the man to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased later that day. Police confirm that an off-duty New York City employee was arrested and charged in the 45th precinct, which covers Co-op City and City Island. On Thursday, Nov. 18, at 10.17 p.m., Kayla Cox, 38, an NYPD school safety agent, was charged with assault. A person who is charged with a crime is innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
