Bronx Man Gets 16 Years for Stabbing Six Men in Unprovoked Attacks

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Wednesday, July 27, that a Bronx man was sentenced to 16 years in prison and five years of post-release supervision for slashing and assaulting six men over two days in August 2020.   In the context of the announcement, Clark said, “The defendant brutally attacked six men within two days in unprovoked, senseless acts.  Two of the victims were 65 and 75 years old. World’s First HIV-Positive to HIV-Positive Heart Transplant Performed at Montefiore Health System

The world’s first HIV-positive to HIV-positive heart transplant has been successfully performed at Montefiore Health System in The Bronx. The patient, in her sixties, suffered from advanced heart failure and received the life-saving donation, along with a simultaneous kidney transplant, in early spring. UPDATE Kingsbridge Heights: Unconscious Male Found on Bronx Street Has Been Identified Police Say

The unidentified man, seen in the accompanying photo, who was discovered unconscious and unresponsive on a Kingsbridge Heights street has since been identified, police say Wednesday. Bronx Man Sentenced to 25 Years to Life in State Prison for Murdering Ex-Girlfriend in Yonkers

Mount Hope: Construction Breaks Ground at 1761 Walton Avenue Affordable Senior Housing Project

UPDATE NWS Issues Thunderstorm Warning & Flood Advisory for Monday, July 25, until 8 p.m.

The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for July 25 until 1.15 p.m. for The Bronx, Manhattan, and Queens in New York, and for Essex, Southern Bergen, Northern Union, Eastern Passaic, and Hudson Counties in New Jersey. It has also issued a flood advisory which is in effect until 8 p.m.   NWS officials said at 12.25 p.m., a severe thunderstorm was located over East Hanover, or near Caldwell, moving east at 35 mph. There is an expected hazard of 60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail of 0.75 inches, according to the NWS radar.
