While Bad Bunny’s concerts are making the cash registers ring, his political speeches are making life harder for the 3.2 million U.S. citizens living in the unequal and undemocratic territory of Puerto Rico.

Kingsbridge Heights: National Night Out Against Crime Held in Poe Park

This year’s National Night Out Against Crime sadly coincided with the tragic death of 14-year-old Ángel Miguel Mendoza Hernández who, as reported, was fatally stabbed in a gang assault in the Williamsbridge Oval park in Norwood on Tuesday evening, Aug. 5, around the same time that the annual event was taking place in Poe Park in Kingsbridge Heights.

Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center’s Lung Cancer Team Earns International Recognition for Exceptional Care

Officials from Montefiore Einstein announced Monday, Sept. 8, that the lung cancer team at Montefiore Einstein Comprehensive Cancer Center (MECCC), based in The Bronx’s Westchester Square, has been recognized by the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer (IASLC) for delivering outstanding care. They said the announcement was made during the IASLC annual meeting in Barcelona, Spain, adding that MECCC is the only center in North America honored with the award this year.

Nearly four years since he first entered the doors of NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx (NCB) in Norwood, patient Rohmearo McFarlane is amazed at how far he has come, both medically and personally. Back in July 2021, he was recovering from a traumatic injury when he slipped in the bathroom and was rushed to North Central Bronx Hospital. As a token of his appreciation of key members of his medical team, McFarlane has since painted portraits of them.
