Following the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in Belmont last month, as reported, the NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached surveillance photos regarding the incident. The NYPD has opened a homicide investigation following the fatal shooting of a 25-year-old man in Belmont. Police said that on Sunday, Feb. 26, at approximately 1.24 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding shots fired at the intersection of Bathgate Avenue and East 183rd Street. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 25-year-old male, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to the head,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the aided male to St. Barnabas hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
