Norwood Man Fatally Shot, Marking Sixth Homicide Within 52nd Precinct for ’19

Police are looking for two gunmen wanted in a pair of unrelated killings along Bainbridge Avenue, taking place just nine days apart, marking the 5th and 6th homicides of the year for the 52nd Precinct. In the latest incident, police say that officers responded to a 911 call, reporting a male shot at 3:21 a.m. at Bainbridge and Rochambeau avenues, near the entrance to Williamsbridge Oval Park, on Aug. 25. Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a 27-year-old man found dead with several bullets to his body, marking the fifth homicide within the 52nd Precinct this year. Detectives are looking to find out who killed Isael Lagares, who was fatally shot in front of 2734 Bainbridge Ave., just blocks from Lagares’ Bedford Park home. Lagares rushed him to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced dead. Crime File: Charges for Fatal Car Wreck in Norwood

Suspect Arrested in Jerome Ave. Crash A Morrisania man faces a litany of charges, including driving while intoxicated vehicular assault and reckless endangerment, related to the death of a Brooklyn woman who was near a bus stop when she was hit. Police say Francisco Rosario drove his Nissan minivan southbound on Jerome Avenue on Aug. 11 at around 10 p.m., mounted a sidewalk at the corner of Bainbridge Avenue and struck two people at the bus stop by the Woodlawn train station. One of them, Natasha Mar, was struck. She was later transported to St. Barnabas Hospital where she died.

Twin Children Die After Left in Car for Hours, Father Taken Into Custody

A pair of twin babies’ lives was cut short after they were left behind in a vehicle for hours in Kingsbridge on a day when temperatures reached the mid-80s, according to police. The one-year-old victims, identified as Mariza and Phoenix Rodriguez, were found in a Honda Accord that had stopped at the corner of Kingsbridge Road and Kingsbridge Terrace at around 4:08 p.m. after the victim’s father discovered his children inside. Cellphone Thefts Police have reported eleven linked incidents of cellphone theft from June 8 to July 7 happening within the 52nd Precinct. One of the thefts occurred on 3222 Bainbridge Ave. and was captured by surveillance cameras (below). The plan was recently rejected by the Bronx Borough President. Why would they put a jail in the boroughs? Where will it be located?
