Fordham: Police Appeal for Help following Non-Fatal Shooting of 15-Year-Old Boy

  Video courtesy of the NYPD The NYPD is seeking the public’s help identifying a person of interest, sought for questioning in connection to an assault and shooting that occurred on the border of Fordham Manor and Fordham Heights.   On Thursday, Feb. 10, at approximately 4.12 p.m., the person in question displayed a firearm from the backseat of a vehicle in the vicinity of East Fordham Road and Webster Avenue. Wakefield/Olinville: Person Found Deceased in Bronx Boulevard Park

A person has been found deceased in an area described by police as Bronx Boulevard park in the Wakefield / Olinville section of The Bronx.   Police said on Thursday, Feb. 17, at approximately 2.30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an aided person inside Bronx Boulevard park, located in the 47th precinct.   Upon arrival, officers observed an unidentified female, lying face down with no apparent signs of trauma. The NYPD has released additional photos and video of two men seen in the attached photos who are sought in connection with a robbery and hate crime that occurred on the border of University Heights and Morris Heights. UPDATE 2nd Incident of Hateful Graffiti Displayed in Northwest Bronx Playground

After anti-Black and vulgar graffiti was photographed in the Spuyten Duyvil Playground on Saturday, Feb 12, a number of elected officials, city agencies and others issued public statements condemning the incident, and took various actions on the matter.   In the meantime, for the second consecutive weekend, a park in the Northwest Bronx was discovered to have been targeted with more anti-Black graffiti. Elected officials are now planning to join together for a formal press conference on Tuesday, Feb. 22, to stand firm against the hateful incidents, and to continue to call for a thorough investigation into both incidents.

Fordham Heights: Attempted Armed Robbery on #4 Line at W 183rd St. Subway Station

Woman Threatened & Robbed Aboard 4 Train

  The New York City Police Department is seeking the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached photo and video regarding a robbery that occurred aboard the #4 subway, in the 52nd precinct. A 26-year-old woman told police that on Jan. 24, at 4.20 p.m., as she was aboard a northbound #4 train, an unidentified man threatened the woman with an unknown sharp object in the stomach area, demanding her property.   The man removed the victim’s wallet, which contained various credit cards as well as her identification. UPDATE Bedford Park: Additional Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting of Two Men

  Police confirm they have arrested a second man in connection with the fatal shooting of two other men following an incident in Bedford Park in February.   Police said officers responded to a 911 call on Saturday,  Feb. 12, at approximately 10.54 p.m. regarding a man who had been shot at East 198th Street and Webster Avenue. Upon arrival, they observed two aided men in front of 397 East 198th Street: a 24-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the torso, and a 28-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the face.   EMS also responded to the incident

Fordham Manor: 23-Year-Old Man Shot Twice

The NYPD said a 23-year-old man was shot twice in Fordham Manor on Thursday, Feb. 10.   Sergeant Edward Riley, NYPD spokesperson, said officers responded to the incident which occurred in front of 2556 Davidson Avenue at 8 p.m. on Thursday. A 23-year-old male victim told police he was walking [along the street] when he heard gunfire. He then sustained two gunshots, one to his left leg and one to his left arm.   The victim said the unidentified suspect fled the area in a vehicle in an unknown direction. The victim was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital.

Broken windows and graffiti-laden subway cars are symbols of a society that is out of control. A permissive approach to crime is making it extremely difficult for law-abiding citizens to live in New York City.   Former Police Commissioner William Bratton was credited with controlling crime between the 1990s and 2017 in Boston, New York City, and Los Angeles, through enforcing punishment for minor crimes in order to prevent major crimes. In short, enforcing the law for minor infractions of the law took criminals off the streets and sent a message that authorities were serious about cracking down on crime.
