Yonkers Doctor Pleads Guilty to Illegal Distribution of 100,000+ Oxycodone Pills

Yonkers doctor, Marc Laruelle, has pled guilty to one count of distributing oxycodone, among other narcotics, without a legitimate medical purpose while acting outside the usual course of professional practice. Laruelle pled guilty before U.S. District Judge Denis L. Cote, on Thursday, Oct. 20, as announced by Damian Williams, U.S. attorney for the Southern District of New York. In the context of the announcement, Williams said, “Marc Laruelle abused his medical license and violated the oath of his profession when he prescribed more than 100,000 doses of a highly potent and addictive opioid without a legitimate medical need.” He

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Oct. 19 that a New Jersey man was charged with recklessly driving on the Grand Concourse, leading to the death of Bronx food delivery worker, Victorio Hilario-Guzman, in 2020. A 40-year-old Bronx man has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for enticing minor children to send him nude and sexually explicit photographs and videos of themselves over the internet. On April 5 of this year, Jonathan Skolnick, 40, of The Bronx, pled guilty before U.S. Judge Colleen McMahon, who imposed the sentence. A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Olinville in October. Police from the 47th Precinct said that on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at around 3.34 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in the vicinity of East 216th Street and White Plains Road. “Upon arrival, officers observed a 40-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the chest, in front of 3734 White Plains Road,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Heath & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased.”
