Bronx Man Sentenced to 22 Years to Life in Prison for Fatal Multiple Shooting in 2018

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Wednesday, Dec. 8, that a 32-year-old man has been convicted and sentenced to 22 years to life in prison, after a jury found him guilty of murder for shooting a man multiple times on a Bronx street in 2018. Police confirm a man was stabbed during an attempted robbery which occurred in the Fordham Manor section of the Bronx, in the 52nd precinct, on Monday.   Police officials said the attempted robbery took place in the vicinity of Decatur Avenue and East 195th Street in Fordham Manor on Monday, Dec. 6, at 5.09 p.m.   They said a 23-year-old man reported to police that an unknown individual stabbed him in the face with a sharp instrument and attempted to take his phone. Norwood: Man Arrested in Jerome Avenue Assault

Amid the hustle and bustle of holiday shopping, officers from the 52nd precinct swooped in and arrested a man for an assault with a pocketknife in Norwood. Ocasio-Cortez, Bowman Send Letter to FEMA, Requesting Additional Aid for Ida Victims

Children’s Hospital at Montefiore Study Shows Kids with Obesity/Diabetes at Higher Risk of COVID-19-Related Hospitalization

Researchers at the Children’s Hospital at Montefiore (CHAM) and Albert Einstein College of Medicine have released a new study which highlights that children with obesity or diabetes who contract SARS-CoV-2 infection are at a higher risk of being hospitalized than children who are not obese, or do not have diabetes. They say this is particularly concerning since reports have shown that rates of obesity and diabetes have increased among children during the pandemic.   Building on research conducted early in the pandemic, CHAM investigators analyzed 319 patients from 0 to 21 years of age with SARS-CoV-2 infection, of whom approximately one quarter were hospitalized
