Norwood: Man Dies following Car Accident

The NYPD has confirmed that a 56-year-old man has died following a car accident in Norwood. On Sunday, Jan. 2, at approximately 1.22 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a pedestrian struck by an FDNY ambulance at the intersection of Dekalb Avenue and E. Gun Hill Road in Norwood, in the 52nd precinct. Upon arrival, officers discovered an unconscious and unresponsive 56-year-old man lying on the roadway. The NYPD released body-worn camera footage on Thursday, Dec. 30, in relation to an officer-involved shooting that occurred on Oct. 2, at University Heights Bridge and which involved both the 34th and the 52nd precinct commands.
