Bronx Council for Environmental Quality (BCEQ) officials congratulated Mayor Eric Adams on Tuesday, Feb. 8, on appointing who they referred to as two highly qualified executives, who are also women, to NYC Department of Parks and Recreation: Commissioner Susan M. NYC Parks announced on Monday, Feb. 7, that is is proud to present the Poe Park Visitor Center’s virtual exhibition as part of the agency’s Black History Month celebration. Obituary: Local Norwood Resident, Rose Margaret Moran, Remembered

Rose Margaret Moran, long-time Bronx resident of Decatur Avenue in Norwood, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 6, 2022, at the age of 90. Born on July 20, 1931, she was the daughter of James Moran and Ellen (Neville) Moran.   Rose was the epitome of the song, “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling.” As a young girl, she traveled with her mother and younger sister, Mary, by steam liner back to the family farm in Ireland. University Heights: Police Release Video following Fatal Shooting of 41-Year-Old Man

The NYPD has released a video following the fatal shooting of a man in the early hours of Monday morning in University Heights.   On Monday, Feb. 7, at approximately 00.02 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at 2296 Andrews Avenue.   Upon arrival, police observed a 41-year-old man lying on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to his head.
