New York City Districting Commission has announced a series of additional hearing dates for when the City’s residents can further testify on the latest draft city council district maps released by the commission on July 15. MTA Announces Universal Subway Wireless Connectivity Plan

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) recently announced a public-private partnership to provide cell coverage throughout all 418 track miles of subway tunnels, along with an expansion of Wi-Fi service to all 191 above-ground subway and 21 Staten Island Railway stations.   Transit customers can currently use cellular and Wi-Fi service at all 281 underground subway stations through Transit Wireless, a BAI communications company.   An off-duty New York City police officer was arrested and charged in the 50th Precinct on a DUI charge.   Police Officer Joaquin Sepúlveda, 42, who is assigned to the 9th Precinct in Manhattan since 2012, was charged with driving while intoxicated and driving while his ability was impaired on Friday, Aug. 5, at 10.02 p.m.   The 9th Precinct covers from East Houston Street to East 14th Street from Broadway, to the East River in Manhattan.
