Fordham Manor: FDNY Confirms No Injuries following Fire in Multiple Dwelling

The FDNY confirmed there were no injuries reported following a fire which broke out on Dec. 26, 2021, at 2720 Grand Concourse in The Bronx. The alarm was raised at 6.58 p.m. when all hands were requested to respond to the fire which originated on the 2nd floor of a 6-story, multiple dwelling.   More than 60 fire fighters responded to the incident and FDNY said a hazmat response was also required for lithium-ion batteries (a type of rechargeable battery) in the apartment.   Hazmat stands for “hazardous materials,” and the job of the hazmat team is to respond to any

New Law Sponsored by Jeffrey Dinowitz Will Require Board of Elections to Offer Voters Absentee Ballot Tracking

As more New Yorkers get comfortable with absentee voting, a new law sponsored by Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) will make it easier for voters to keep track of where their ballot is from start to finish. Fordham Manor: Search for Group following Assault on Woman

Norwood: St. Brendan’s Annual Toy Drive Brings Joy to Kids

In the spirit of holiday giving, St. Brendan School, a Catholic, elementary school, located in the Norwood section of the Bronx, in the Archdiocese of New York, recently held its annual toy drive for Catholic Guardian Services (CGS).   CGS cares for over 1,000 children in need ranging in age from infancy to 21.   This year, according to school representatives and thanks to the generosity of the school’s students and their families, St. Brendan’s was able to collect 23 bags of toy donations for children to enjoy in time for Christmas.
