The National Weather Service has issued a winter weather advisory for New York City, which will be in effect on Thursday, Jan. 20, from 4 a.m. and New York City Emergency Management Department (EMS) has issued a travel advisory which will be in effect from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. According to the latest forecast, light rain is expected late Wednesday night with a transition to light snow early Thursday morning through the early afternoon.   City officials said an accumulation of light snowfall could result in snow-covered roads for the Thursday morning commute. Bedford Park: 11-Month-Old Baby Girl Shot, in Hospital in Critical Condition

  Police confirm an 11-month-old baby girl was shot in the Bedford Park section of the Bronx at E 198th Street and Valentine Avenue at 6.45 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19. Police said the child was inside a white, parked car with her mother at the time of the shooting, which took place in the 52nd precinct. Throggs Neck: Person Transported to Hospital following Vehicle Flip

One person was transported to hospital following a road accident in Throggs Neck.   The FDNY reported that emergency services received a call regarding an incident at 1.39 p.m. on Jan. 13, at Harding Avenue and Revere Avenue in the Throggs Neck section of The Bronx for a report of an overturned vehicle and motor vehicle accident involving an overturned vehicle. They said one person was transported to Albert Einstein Hospital. Longwood: 77-Year-Old Woman Dies, 7 Injured Following Fire / Explosion & Building Collapse

A 77-year-old woman has died following a morning explosion, fire and building collapse at a home in the Longwood section of the Bronx.   On Tuesday, Jan. 18, at approximately 10.54 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a residential fire at 869 Fox Avenue. Upon arrival police discovered three injured victims.   An 82-year-old woman and a 68-year-old woman were removed to Jacobi Hospital, both in stable condition. A third victim, a 77-year-old woman, was also transported to Jacobi Hospital, where she was pronounced deceased.   Five police officers were also taken to area hospitals in stable condition.

Bronx DA: Bronx Man Charged for Fatal Hit and Run Incident in Fordham Manor

Bronx District Attorney Darcel D. Clark announced on Tuesday, Jan. 18, that a Bronx man has been charged with criminally negligent homicide and other charges, following a deadly crash on East Fordham Road last summer.   In the context of the announcement, Clark said, “The defendant’s alleged reckless actions led to the death of a woman and injuring of a second woman.
