Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz (A.D. 81) shared in his regular newsletter dated Feb. 2 that the New York State legislature would likely approve newly redrawn maps of The Bronx’s congressional districts, supported by the majority of State legislators, as part of the ongoing redistricting process which follows the 2020 census. The legislature, which is controlled by Democrats, did just that on Feb. 2, and Gov. Kathy Hochul approved the new maps on Feb. 3. For the second time in 10 years, detectives and crime scene investigators are investigating a brutal murder at a Noble Avenue building in the Van Nest section of The Bronx. This time, the life of a woman was taken. A person has been found deceased in an area described by police as Bronx Boulevard park in the Wakefield / Olinville section of The Bronx. Police said on Thursday, Feb. 17, at approximately 2.30 p.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding an aided person inside Bronx Boulevard park, located in the 47th precinct.
