City and State health officials updated New Yorkers on the detection of polio in the City’s sewage system on Friday, Aug. 12, suggesting a likely local circulation of the virus in New York City. Police said a 25-year-old man from Bedford Park has been arrested in connection with the murder investigation of a 20 year-old-man that took place in Belmont on July 27. A police spokesperson said, “On Wednesday, July 27, 2022, at approximately 0409 hours, police responded to a male shot in front of 717 East 187 Street, within the confines of the 48 Precinct.
