A 50-year-old man has died following an e-bike collision in Bronx Park East, police said.
Police said that on Monday, Oct. 6, at a 7.30 p.m. officers responded to a 911 call regarding a vehicle collision at the intersection of Southern Boulevard and Mosholu Parkway in Bronx Park East, southwest of Norwood and west of Bedford Park.
Further investigation by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad determined that the victim was driving an e-bike eastbound on Southern Boulevard when he collided with a metal pole and was ejected from the vehicle.
“The bicyclist sustained trauma to the head,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded and transported the male to St. Barnabas Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.” Police said there are no arrests and the investigation remains ongoing by the NYPD Highway District’s Collision Investigation Squad.”

Police said the deceased has been identified as Charles Ovono Oluwole from the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx.
With collision investigations, the NYPD handles all criminal investigations of the investigation while NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) reviews the street design at the locations of such crashes.
