UPDATE NYC Districting Commission Approved Latest Redrawn City Council Maps on Oct. 6

NYC Districting Commission, the entity tasked with redrawing the 51 New York City Council maps following the 2020 census results, voted 13-1 to approve and submit to the City Council the latest newly redrawn maps, during a public meeting held on Thursday, Oct. 6.   These maps were revised from both the preliminary plan published by the Commission in July and a proposed revised plan submitted in September that was not approved by the Commission during a meeting on Sept. 22. Mayor, Schumer Announce First-in-Nation “Street Deliverista Hubs” for Food Delivery Workers

Mayor Eric Adams and U.S. Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer announced the launch on Monday, Oct. 3, of a first-of-its-kind hub program for New York City’s 65,000 delivery workers, many of whom are immigrants. Allerton: Group of Five Sought in Bronx Robbery Pattern

Norwood: Search for 58-Year-Old Missing Man

A 58-year-old man was reported missing from Norwood on Friday, Sept. 30, and the NYPD is seeking the public’s help locating him.   Police said it was reported to them that Melvin Phillips, 58, from 3144 Hull Avenue was last seen Friday, Sept. 23, at 8 p.m., leaving his home. He is described as having brown eyes, is balding, has a dark complexion, is 6 feet tall, has a medium build and weighs around 180 pounds. Williamsbridge: Permits Filed for New Building at 3030 Colden Avenue
