Norwood: 69-Year-Old Senior Assaulted inside East 204th Street Store

The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached video and photo who they say is wanted in connection with an elderly assault that occurred in the Norwood section of The Bronx.

 

It was reported to police said that on Tuesday, June 30, at around 12.30 p.m. inside a store located at 286 East 204th Street [Dollar Deal Store], a 69-year-old male victim was approached by an unidentified person who engaged him in a verbal dispute.

 

“An altercation ensued, and the individual proceeded to punch the victim in the face before pushing him to the ground,” a police spokesperson said. “The individual then removed the victim’s cellphone and threw it on the ground causing damage.”

Police said the victim was transported by EMS to NYC Health + Hospitals/North Central Bronx in Norwood, where he was listed in stable condition. They said the suspect fled the incident location on foot, traveling westbound on East 204th Street to parts unknown. They said the suspect is described as male, has a dark complexion, and was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and tan bucket hat.
