Wakefield: Two Men Arrested and Charged with Murder of 46-Year-Old Man on March 10

A 24-year-old man and a 61-year-old man have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred in Wakefield on March 10.

On Thursday, March 10, at approximately 00.14 a.m., police responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot at 730 East 227th Street, located in the 47th precinct in Wakefield.

 

Upon arrival, police observed a 46-year-old man with a gunshot wound to the chest. EMS responded and transported the victim to Jacobi Medical Center, where he was pronounced deceased.

 

On May 9, police confirmed that the deceased has later identified as Jemal Deshong, 46, of East 227th Street, Bronx, NY. The NYPD also said Louis McDonald, 24, of East 227th Street, Bronx NY, was arrested and charged in the context of the case with murder, manslaughter, and criminal possession of a weapon.

 

Pursuant to the ongoing investigation, on May 10, police officials said James Charleston, 61, of East 227th Street was also arrested and charged in the context of the incident with murder, manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon.

 

A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
