The NYPD is asking for the public’s help identifying the person seen in the attached photo and video who they say is wanted in connection with a non-fatal shooting that occurred in Van Cortlandt Park.

Police said that on Sunday, Aug. 31, at around 6.55 a.m., two victims, a 17-year-old girl and a 16-year-old girl, were traveling in a vehicle when they almost collided with a white, two-wheeled dirt bike opposite of 3545 Jerome Avenue.

They said the unidentified dirt bike driver then displayed a gun and fired twice at the vehicle, striking both female victims in their respective right legs. They said the dirt bike driver then fled the location to parts unknown, and both female victims were transported via private means to Montefiore Medical Center in Norwood in stable condition.

Police said the first suspect is described as male, has a medium complexion, and was last seen wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt, a white t-shirt, blue jeans, and white sneakers.
