UPDATE Olinville: Man Arrested following Fatal Shooting of 40-Year-Old Man

A 30-year-old man was arrested in connection with the murder of a man in Olinville in October.

Police from the 47th Precinct said that on Wednesday, Oct. 19, at around 3.34 a.m., officers responded to a 911 call regarding a man who had been shot in the vicinity of East 216th Street and White Plains Road.

 

“Upon arrival, officers observed a 40-year-old male with gunshot wounds to the chest, in front of 3734 White Plains Road,” a police spokesperson said. “EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to NYC Heath & Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was pronounced deceased.” There are no initial arrests, and the investigation remained ongoing.

 

On Thursday, Oct. 27, police said the deceased had been identified as Obdulio Martinez, 40, of East 221st Street from the Williamsbridge section of The Bronx.

 

On Nov. 4, pursuant to the ongoing investigation, Roshane Allen, 30, of East 220th Street, also in Williamsbridge, was arrested in connection to the incident. He was charged with murder, criminal possession of a weapon, assault, and menacing.

 

A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
