UPDATE Morris Heights: Male Youth, 15, Arrested following Stabbing of Second Youth

Police said a unidentified 15-year-old boy has been arrested on assault charges following a stabbing in Morris Heights.

 

The NYPD had been asking for the public’s help identifying the young person seen in the attached photo who had been sought for questioning in connection to the assault.

Police said that on Sunday, May 28, at around 8.09 p.m., a 16-year-old male victim and another male [youth] got into a dispute in the vicinity of Richman Plaza and Matthewson Road. The assailant allegedly stabbed the victim in the right side of the neck with a switchblade and then fled on foot to parts unknown, they said. The victim was transported by EMS to an area hospital and was treated for a laceration to the neck, police said.

 

On Tuesday, May 30, the NYPD said pursuant to an ongoing investigation, an unidentified 15-year-old male youth was arrested in the 46th Precinct and charged with assault.

 

A person arrested and charged with a crime is deemed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
