UPDATE Fordham Manor: One Woman Hospitalized, One Woman Arrested after Stabbing

One woman was hospitalized after a stabbing in Fordham Manor on Thursday, March 7, according to the City’s emergency services.

 

An EMS spokesperson said emergency services personnel received a call a 1.44 p.m. on March 7 for a reported stabbing at 2652 Bainbridge Avenue, located between East 194th Street and East 196th Street. The spokesperson said one person was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital and their condition and description were unknown at the time.

 

Citizens reported via the Citizens App that a woman had been stabbed in her left arm, and that a suspect has been arrested. Norwood News contacted the NYPD for more information on the incident and a spokesperson later said they received a report of an assault at the location. “A 42-year-old female reported to police that on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at approximately 13.41 hours, she was slashed in the arm by an unknown individual in the vicinity of Marion Avenue and East 194 Street,” an NYPD spokesperson said. “The victim was transported by EMS to St. Barnabas Hospital in stable condition.”

 

Pursuant to an ongoing investigation, they said Amelia Benjamin, 46, of 2659 Bainbridge Avenue was arrested and charged with assault on March 12. She is presumed innocent unless and until convicted in a court of law.
