Representatives of The Benjamin Franklin Reform Democratic Club (BFRDC) have announced that the club will hold club leadership elections during its annual meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 25, at 7 p.m. via Zoom.

In addition to some club business, club representatives said the following endorsement will be considered: Shall the Club Make an Endorsement for Bronx District Attorney? They added that if the answer is yes, recognized candidates, Darcel Clark and Tess Cohen, will speak and answer questions.

Club representatives said members of the public are invited to view the meeting via Zoom. They clarified that only club members in good standing will be eligible to question the candidates or vote. Non-members who wish to attend the Zoom meeting are requested to email the club at benfranklinclub@gmail.com, include a contact name, address, and preferred email address and the club will reply and provide a link via email prior to the meeting.

As reported, club representatives previously announced in October 2022 that it would “discuss and decide whether to endorse a candidate for the 2023 11th district city council [Democratic] primary election.” A representative for the Kingsbridge-based club said if the club decided to go ahead with the proposal, club members would take a vote on any such endorsement for the council position, currently held by incumbent city councilman, Eric Dinowitz.
