University Heights: Search for Man Who Shot 16-Year-Old Victim in Knee

 

The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the individual seen in the vehicle in the attached video and photo who is sought for questioning regarding a non-fatal shooting that occurred on the border of Fordham Manor and University Heights, in the 52nd precinct.

 

It was reported to police that on Friday, Oct. 8, at approximately 6 p.m., a 16-year-old male victim was at the corner of West Fordham Road and Andrews Avenue, when an unidentified vehicle driver struck the victim’s moped with his car. The victim fled on his moped, riding on the sidewalk toward West 183rd Street, with the car in pursuit.

Once in front of 2272 Andrews Avenue, in University Heights, the assailant discharged multiple rounds from a firearm from inside his vehicle, striking the victim once in the right knee before fleeing in an unknown direction. EMS responded to the location and transported the victim to an area hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The vehicle is described as a silver Chrysler Sebring sedan.
