Tremont: Police Release Video of Person of Interest following Fatal Shooting

 

 

The NYPD is asking for the public’s assistance identifying the person seen in the attached surveillance video and photo who is sought for questioning regarding a fatal shooting that occurred in the vicinity of Tremont, located in the 48th precinct, in December 2021.

 

It was reported to police that on Tuesday, Dec. 7, 2021, at approximately 9.08 p.m., the victim, a 31-year-old man, was in front of 2001 Arthur Avenue, when he was approached by an unidentified man and shot in the right side of the chest.

 

The shooter then fled on foot to parts unknown. Police and EMS responded to the location and the victim was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased. There are no arrests and the investigation remained ongoing.

 

The identity of the victim had been pending proper family notification.

 

On Wednesday, March 16, police released the attached photo and video of a person of interest in the case, who is described as male, has a light skin complexion, a medium build, and was last seen wearing a green “Nike” sweat suit, a black “North Face” jacket and white sneakers.

 

Surveillance video and a photo of the person of interest are attached.
