Bronxites Show Up for Three “No Kings” Rallies Held Across the Borough on 3rd Nationwide “No Kings” Day

On a cold and blustery day on Saturday, March 28, 2026, several hundred Bronxites packed Lou Gehrig Plaza in the Concourse section of The Bronx, across the street from Bronx Borough Hall at East 161st Street and the Grand Concourse, to be part of history. Organizers of the nationwide “No Kings” movement said at least 8 million people turned out across the country at more than 3,300 locations for a third national protest the same day.

Bernie Sanders (I-Vermont), the keynote speaker at a recent Bronx “Tax the Rich” rally organized by the Democratic Socialists of America (DSA), brought his usual passion, this time, to Bedford Park’s Lehman College, as he appealed to both Gen X and Boomer legislators alike to help the next generation live an affordable life of dignity.
