Investigators continue to piece together events leading up to a fatal crash, previously reported by the Norwood News, where a motorcycle crashed into the back of a work truck contracted by New York City Department of Transportation (DOT), at the end of the morning rush-hour. The crash was reported at 9:56 a.m. on Tuesday, March 9, on the northbound Major Deegan Expressway, between the East 233rd Street exit in Woodlawn Heights and the McLean Avenue exit in Yonkers. Update: Man Dies in Fatal Motorcycle Collision on Major Deegan Expressway

On Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 9.56 a.m., police responded to a 911 call of a motor vehicle collision on the northbound Major Deegan Expressway in the vicinity of the 233rd Street exit, in Woodlawn Heights, in the 50th precinct.   Upon arrival, police observed a 58-year-old man with severe trauma to his head and torso. Pedestrian Struck Crossing Major Deegan Expressway, Dies

On Monday, Aug. 3, 2020, at approximately 8.20 a.m., police responded to a 911 call about a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian who was struck on the southbound Major Deegan Expressway in the vicinity of Fordham Road, within the confines of the 52nd precinct.
