Special Education Students Go for Gold

  Cheers wafted through the air on the field outside the New York Institute for Special Education in Pelham Parkway on Thursday, June 2, as special education students of all ages competed against one another for a gold medal.   The competitions consisted of track courses, shot put, softball throws, and long and short jumps, with the students split up into teams, designated by colors. Celebrating June at Kingsbridge Heights Community Center

 Brightly colored decorations and a bounce house full of joyful children made one Kingsbridge Heights location the most exciting part of the neighborhood to be in earlier this month. With banners celebrating Juneteenth and Pride alike, the 9th Annual Neighborhood Festival hosted by Kingsbridge Heights Community Center [KHCC] involved a lot of planning by the center’s team.
