Former Female 52 Pct Cop Gets More than 5 Years for Helping Murderous Gang Leader Flee the U.S.

A former, female, NYPD Officer assigned to the 52nd Precinct, based in Norwood, was hit with a 70-month prison sentence on Friday, March 29, for helping a now-convicted murderer, who was also a gang leader, flee the United States, federal prosecutors said.

Norwood-based daycare center owner, Silfredo Castillo Martinez, 34, pled guilty on Thursday, March 21, before U.S. District Judge Paul A. Engelmayer to a superseding information charging him with sexual exploitation of a child and production of child pornography, federal prosecutors said.

Bronx Man Gets 15 Years for Drug Trafficking in Exchange for Sex with Minor Causing Death of 19-Year-Old

A 31-year-old Bronx man was sentenced on March 13 to 15 years in prison for paying for commercial sex with a 16-year-old minor using fentanyl-laced pills that resulted in the death of a 19-year-old victim, a friend of the minor. Both victims ingested the fentanyl. The minor became ill but survived.

A 40-year-old Bronx man has been arrested following a daylight shooting in the Mt Hope section of The Bronx, four months after he was released from prison for a separate crime. One person was hit during the shooting. Damian Williams, U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, James Smith, assistant director in charge of the FBI New York field office, and NYPD Commissioner Edward A. Caban announced the unsealing of a complaint charging Miguel Diaz with firing a weapon outside a Mt. Eden deli in The Bronx last month, wounding a victim in the arm.
