UPDATE MTA: BX10 Bus Stop on E Gun Hill Road and Bainbridge Ave Temporarily Closed until March 26

  A flyer posted to the bus stop at East Gun Hill Road and Bainbridge Avenue in Norwood indicates that there is a temporary closure of the stop for the Bx10 bus (westbound) from Dec. 27, 2021 to March 26, 2022.     Photos show a heavy amount of snow surrounding the stop.   Norwood News reached out to the MTA for more information about the suspension, and were informed that they do not manage bus stops but suggested to contact NYC Department of Transportation (DOT) or NYC Department of Design & Construction (DDC) as the closure may be due

Bx10 Could See Massive Changes Under Bus Route Revamp Plan

Of all the bus complaints Assemblyman Jeff Dinowitz’s office receives, the ire is usually directed at the oft unreliable Bx10, which snakes virtually around Dinowitz’s 80th Assembly District, ending and beginning in Norwood. Bx10 Service To Increase Service Following Complaints

The MTA is rolling out an extra roundtrip bus on the overly congested Bx10 line, following commuter complaints addressed to its local Assemblyman. Its southbound route starts at Riverdale, making 51 stops before reaching Norwood’s 206th Street and Rochambeau Avenue. Commuters were vocal over the line’s constant congestion, which slowed service down. The complaints went to the MTA and to Assemblyman Jeffrey Dinowitz, whose district covers Norwood and Riverdale. WiFi Service Comes to Bronx Buses

Buses in New York will now have Wifi and USB charging ports. On March 21, the first of 83 new buses with these features arrived in the Bronx. Three to five MTA buses will be delivered per week after the initial delivery of four buses for a total of 83 buses by the end of the year. Participatory Budgeting Shows District-wide Enhancements

Residents of 11th Council District should expect new district-wide improvements including bus count-down clocks and security cameras, thanks to Councilman Andrew Cohen’s participatory budgeting process.
